Whenever you see pictures of people meditating or doing yoga you will most likely see women or “hippie” looking men.
Most people do not link meditation or yoga to rugged activities.
But the truth is coming out. Both of these play an integral part in military training, high level Olympic competition and even American NFL football.
“Meditation is as important as lifting weights and being out here on the field for practice,” Okung said. “It’s about quieting your mind and getting into certain states where everything outside of you doesn’t matter in that moment. There are so many things telling you that you can’t do something, but you take those thoughts captive, take power over them and change them.”
If meditation and yoga help the military and peak performance athletes then it should be of help in your life.
