Heart disease is a major killer in the USA and now throughout the world.
And surprisingly enough 25% of heart attacks happen to people who are symptom free.
Here is what Runners World Magazine has to say:
Heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women—and your runner lifestyle doesn’t necessarily make you immune. In fact, 25 percent of heart attacks happen in people who don’t smoke and who have healthy cholesterol levels. The good news: Exercise decreases your risk, as can eating a diet rich in heart-healthy food.
Even though exercise is an important factor in maintaining heart health an equally powerful protector of our heart is the food that we eat.
